Christmas at Marshall Presbyterian Church

On Thursday, December 20, Marshall Presbyterian Church was filled with everything from a medieval lute to the sound of a pipe organ playing jazz during the Annual Christmas Concert Benefit for Neighbors in Need on Thursday.  Jazz pianist Steve Davidowski organized the concert to raise funds for the Neighbors in Need food pantry and crisis fund. This is the 6th concert Steve has organized for the charity.

Steve Davidowski's trio, with bassist James Simmons and drummer Jeffry Rudolph, thrilled the audience with jazz renditions of favorite carols. Sam Parker, Mary Eagle, Steve Garrison, Kevin Jetter and and 11 other local other local talented musicians presented a diverse genre of Christmas music. Even the Snow Queen, Emily Craig, who recently appeared with the Asheville Ballet, brought the magic of the Nutcracker to Marshall.

The joy of Christmas was enhanced by the beautiful tree and decorations in the sanctuary at Marshall Presbyterian Church. Kenny Cheek, Mars Hill College graduate and choir director at the church thanked the musicians and invited everyone to the 5 pm Christmas Eve music service where the offering will also be given to Neighbors in Need.
