CALL TO CONFESSION
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, even when we see your love and justice transfigured before us, we cower in fear of what it would mean to follow your way in the world. We wonder what it might cost us to be disciples of Jesus,,, silent prayers of confession…Help us to listen to Jesus. Empower us to be formed by his life. Restore in us the confidence to be Jesus’ disciples. Amen
* ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: Just as a cloud overshadowed the disciples in the transfiguration story, and just as they heard a voice say that Jesus is God’s beloved, so too are we God’s beloved people. Friends, we are forgiven and restored to our right standing as beloved of God.
All: Thanks be to God; Amen!

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
(Nicene Creed - Ecumenical)
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated on the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father (and the Son), who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

INVITATION TO THE LORD’S TABLE
THE GREAT THANKSGIVING AND LORD’S PRAYER
One: May God be with you.
All: May God be with you also.
One: Lift your hearts, people of God.
All: We open them to the One who loves us.
One: People of God, give thanks to the One who meets us on the mountaintops of glory and in the valleys of service.
All: It is good that we offer praise and thanksgiving to the One who is with us in every moment.
The minister continues…You crafted mountains…speaking the ancient words of praise:
All: Holy, holy, holy are you, God of glory and grace.
Heaven and earth sing loud songs of praise to you.
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is the One who comes to offer us a double portion of grace and mercy. Hosanna in the highest!
The minister continues…God of justice and mercy…we proclaim our faith as we come to the Table:
All: In love, Christ died for us.
In joy, Christ was raised for us.
In glory, Christ will come again to us.
The minister continues…Now, on the gifts of the bread and the cup…We pray in your triune name as we were taught to pray:
All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
BREAKING THE BREAD
COMMUNION OF THE PEOPLE (with special music)
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
One: God sends us from this sacred space.
All: We will go to share the good news of grace,
to offer healing to the broken.
One: Jesus would not have us stay here forever.
All: We will go to find our sisters and brothers in the valleys of injustice and the neighborhoods of despair.
One: The Spirit fills us with the gifts we need as we leave.
All: We will go to help rebuild the lives of those around us, to share feasts of hope and peace with everyone. Amen.
