Welcome to Marshall Presbyterian Church!

Welcome to the Marshall Presbyterian Church web site. MPC is a vibrant, caring community of faith. If you are seeking a church home, come visit us as we learn, serve,have fun, and grow deeper in faith in Jesus Christ together!

We are worshipping online as well as in the sanctuary (distanced and masked) to reflect the love of God by caring for our neighbors and not spreading the virus.

CALENDAR

Sunday School in online. Church is online and in the sanctuary, 11 am on Sunday mornings. Neighbors in Need food bank and emergency help is open from 1-3 each Tuesday welcoming one client (wearing masks) from a family.

Please contact the following groups to learn their schedules:

Tuesdays, 1-3 pm: Neighbors in Need

Tuesdays, 6p.m.: Scouts

Thursdays, 6:30-ish pm: Choir rehearsal

Wednesdays, 6 p.m.: Scouts

Fridays, 7 p.m. AA

The two-year Daily Lectionary comes from the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship (Westminster John Knox Press, 1993) where it was adapted from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer; it may also be found in the Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study, published each year by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This lectionary is intended for personal study and reflection, as well as daily prayer in individual or small group settings. In a two-year period, this lectionary allows users to read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice, moving sequentially and systematically through large sections of scripture. Two

From the January Session minutes

Session approved a "Souper Bowl Sunday" dual offering with monetary gifts to be sent to New Direction Ministries in Madison County and cans of soup for Neighbors in Need. Session approved that on the 3rd Sunday of every month buckets be passed by children to collect change for the 5₵ a Meal Program sent to Presbytery. Genell noted that the last grant given to Neighbors in Need by the 5₵ a Meal Program was for $5,000. Reverend Upchurch reported ecumenical activities including participating in a panel discussion presented by the 1st Baptist Church of Mars Hill for seminary students from varied denominations and singing with the 1st Baptist Church of Marshall's choir in their Christmas program.
