CALL TO CONFESSION
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God, you call us to your merciful, gracious love freely given without expectation or strings attached. While we are eager to experience your mercy and grace in our own lives, we are quick to make our extension of our mercy and grace conditional for others. We would rather show mercy to those we judge worthy. We would rather extend grace to those who will show us grace in return. We would rather love those who are easiest to love. …Silent prayers of confession… Forgive us, Redeeming God. Transform our hearts with your amazing grace and unconditional love, that our relationships are transformed as we extend your mercy and grace as an expression of our gratitude for your saving love that we know in Jesus Christ. Amen.
* ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: God’s grace overflows and brings us new life. Friends, trust the good news: through the grace of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
All: Thanks be to God! Amen!
* GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

MESSAGE Rev. Melissa Upchurch
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (fr. A Brief Statement of Faith, PCUSA)
We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. Jesus proclaimed the reign of God: preaching good news to the poor and release to the captives, teaching by word and deed and blessing the children, healing the sick and binding up the brokenhearted, eating with outcasts, forgiving sinners, and calling all to repent and believe the gospel. Unjustly condemned for blasphemy and sedition, Jesus was crucified, suffering the depths of human pain and giving his life for the sins of the world. God raised this Jesus from the dead, vindicating his sinless life, breaking the power of sin and evil, delivering us from death to life eternal.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION
Holy God, you have given us the Creation in which to work, play, explore, grow, and thrive. You have given us food for survival and pleasure; also, air, water, fire, and cold. In this time of almost spring, make our thanksgiving bloom forth into the lives of others, in the name of the One who gave everything for us. Amen.
