ASSEMBLING IN GOD’S NAME
One: Peace
be with you.
All: How good and pleasant it is when we live together in unity.
One: Receive
the Holy Spirit.
ALL: It is like precious oil on the head, the blessing of the Lord. Let us worship God!
* Opening Prayer
God of Easter, in the risen Christ you broke the
power of
sin and evil. And yet we still live in the tombs of forget-
fulness, anxiety and fear. We have failed to love you
as we should. We have neglected to love our neighbor.
We have even failed to love ourselves.…silent prayers
of confession…Forgive us, Lord. Release us from
the tombs that terrify us, so that we can see your image
in one another and in your good creation. Free us from
the grave of self-hatred, so that we can see ourselves
as
your children. Amen
One: This is the word we have heard:
God forgives our sins and raises us to new life! This is the good news we declare: God leads
us out of the tombs of sin and self-hatred to walk as Easter people in the
light of Christ!
All: Thanks be to God; Amen!

know that God loves and accepts them in spite of what
they are. They therefore accept
themselves and love others,
knowing that no one has any ground on which to stand, except God’s grace. Amen.
